Orono Renovation

This Orono remodel project is a 1977 two-story home which entailed modifying several spaces to gain an overall functional layout with modern updates throughout. The project was a true transformation.

At the beginning of this project, our clients wishlist included a functional entry space as they are a busy family of 4. The home originally featured a breezeway with no direct connection from the garage to the home, we modified this by creating a formal entryway featuring a metal barrel roof and mudroom to achieve the ideal functional space for our clients.

Due to a missing foundational load point during the original construction of the home, the floor joist system was failing and resulted in nearly 2” of deflection of the main floor, posing structural impact. Installing a combination of footings as well as a structural steel beam allowed us to correct it and provided our clients with a safe, level sub-floor. We finished the project with new beautiful wide-plank prefinished engineered flooring. Other features of this Orono renovation included the addition of a formal office, new white oak staircase with designer runner, white oak wrapped cased openings and new paint throughout. This all came together perfectly to deliver a truly custom home renovation of this once dated home.
